Teriyaki Marinade

Teriyaki is Japanese and has become one of the most imitated of Japanese flavors. Teri taken literally means "gloss" or "luster" and describes the sheen of the sauce that goes over the broiled (or yaki) foods.

This one is a "no brainer".

Directions

Mix the following ingredients thoroughly and marinate meet for 6 hours or overnight:

    1/2 cup soy sauce
    3 tbs brown sugar
    2 tbs dry sherry
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp ginger
    1 tsp pepper sauce - optional

After marinading, remove meat and begin grilling. Boil the remaining marinade (to kill bacteria) and periodically baste the meat while cooking. Enjoy.
