Sure-Fire Easy Tri-Tip Marinade

Comments :

This dish will take an hour or less to prepare and about 5 hours on your smoker/grill. In the end, you will enjoy the slow-cooked, smoked flavor meal worth remembering. This whole-cooked chicken will soon become a family favorite!

Combine the following ingredients and pour over your hot pork sandwich for some real zing!

1 cup lemon juice
1 cup olive oil
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup fresh ground black pepper
1/2 cup garlic salt
1/2 cup pressed garlic
1/2 cup chopped dried onions

* This recipe should be enough for 2 - 4-pound trimmed tri-tips

This is a really, really easy marinade to make for your favorite tri-tips.  First thing to do is to mix all of the above ingredients except - look for the "" above.  Use a large non-reactive mixing bowl - such as a glass bowl, plastic bowl or even stainless steel bowl.  The reason for this is that the acids in the lemon juice may react to other metals and taint your marinade. Now place your trimmed tri-tips in a large zip-lock bag (you may need one bag for each tri-tip) and pour the marinade over them. Place them in your refrigerator for at least 5-6 hours turning occasionally for more even marinating.

Heat grill or pit to medium heat and set it for direct cooking over the heat source.

Now place tri-tips on grill and cook about 35 to 45 minutes depending upon how hot your grill is, or until they are cooked to the desired doneness.  Remove your tri-tips from the grill and let them rest uncovered about 2 to 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to stop flowing and remain in the meat.  Serve when ready.

Enjoy!
