Sometimes the grill begs for something new and different. Try adding some vegetables to your menu. Cheesy Tomatoes are a simple, quick side dish you can add to any almost any main entrée.
First, collect the following ingredients:
6 ripe medium tomatoes
1 cup grated Gouda cheese
1 cup rye bread crumbs
1/2 tsp caraway seeds
1 tsp shredded parsley
salt and pepper - to taste
Slice off top of tomatoes and cut zigzag edges around each of the tomatoes. Scoop out the seeds leaving the thick tomato shell. Combine bread crumbs and cheese, filling each tomato. Season tomatoes with salt and pepper, then top with parsley. Place tomatoes on foil on the grill [about 220°] heat until warm and cheese begins to bubble. Enjoy!
