Cajun Shrimp

Comments:
In the US, shrimp consumption has doubled in the last decade to some 1 billion pounds a year. GREAT, LET'S EAT!

How many legs do shrimp have?

  • 4?
  • 6?
  • 8?
  • 10?
  • 12?
  • 18?

Is that your final answer?

The correct
answer is 10!

Ingredients:

2 1/2 lbs. shrimp without heads
   1 cup butter
   1/4 cup lemon juice
   1/4 cup light olive oil
   3 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp. coarse or ground black pepper
   2 tsp. paprika
   1 tsp basil - fresh
   1 tsp parsley - fresh
1 tsp. red chile pepper flakes
   1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Wash shrimp and spread on thick layer of newspapers and pat dry with paper towels.
While drying, mix lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, paprika, black pepper, chili pepper flakes and Worcestershire sauce thoroughly. Add shrimp, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Just before grilling, melt butter and add basil and parsley. Keep warm.

Grill shrimp until done (opaque) but not over done. Remove from grill and place on warmed plate. Drizzle butter mix over shrimp and serve immediately. Do not over fill the plate with butter as it may spill!

Serve shrimp with the French bread. Butter is great for dipping!

Enjoy!
