FAQ Subject: I need plans for a rotisserie cookerfor a whole hog

The plant manager has decided he wants to cook a pig or 2 for the employee's in June. I have talked him into letting the maintenance department build a pig cooker. We want to build a rotisserie cooker that we can roast a whole hog on. A grill style will work, also. But I can not find any plans. Do you know of any books or plans that are available that we can use.

I appreciate any help that you can give us. If we do this right, we will get a gold star and make the plant manager look like a Super Star.

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony,

You, your plant manager and the maintenance budget will look a whole lot better if you drop the idea of a rotisserie. Pigs cook just as well laying still and quiet on the grill as they do whirling noisily and dropping parts off into the coals. Click into the Barbecue Store at www.barbecuen.com and check out "The Great American Barbecue & Grilling Manual" which has chapters on pit design considerations, construction materials, plans and illustrations PLUS it will teach you how to use the pit like a pro.

Have fun,
Smoky
