FAQ Subject: How do I make beef jerky

I was just wondering how u would have to make it in the oven? How to prepare it and how long it would approximately take.

I appreciate the answer.
Thank You

HI SGD,

If you have a gas oven that can get down to around the 150-170° F. temperature range you can dry the meat in there. Have done it lots of times.

All you need is LEAN meat that you have trimmed all the fat from and sliced into 1/8-3/16" slices. Sprinkle lightly with salt and black pepper and dry it until it is completely dry or reaches 160° F. Then store it in an air tight container.

Later you can experiment with flavors like garlic and onion, Worcestershire sauce, Soy sauce and Teriyaki sauce.

Have fun,
Smoky
