FAQ Subject: Can I smoke a pumpkin?

i was wondering if pumkin would be good to smoke food, the stem or skin , i will burn one to smell it, please give me your opinion. thanx, i enjoyed your site.///Razormon.

Hi Ray,

I would think that smoked pumpkin would be excellent for dishes like pumpkin soup. You can also dry pumpkin in the grill for preservation. Remember that pumpkin is rich with sugar and if you get the grill too hot that sugar will turn into a very hard char.

Luck,
Smoky
