Subject: Re: Grapevine Wood

Smoky,

A close friend swears that wild grapevine is THE wood to use for smoking. In your opinion is he right, wrong or killing his guests?

Charles

Hi Charles,

Grape vines (and leaves) are valid members of the list of many woods/herbs that can add good flavors when not over done.

Each has its own merits and none are the "best." I like grape vines for some fish and lamb.

Sounds like your friend may be blowing as much as smoking.

Good eating,
Smoky
